Sun Microsystems released the third edition of their
open source office suite -
OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice was first released in July 2000 and was aimed to reduce the dominant market share, hold by
Microsoft Office. OpenOffice.org is a cross-platform office application suite, meaning it's available for a whole bunch of operating systems including Windows, OS X and Linux. OpenOffice.org includes most of the stuff you find in other office suites e.g. Microsoft Office - but with a sweet exception, it's free! Try the latest version, it will cost you nothing but a little of your time.
