I always hated physics in school, but when it comes to cutting edge physics discoveries and predictions about the future of physics I'm somewhat of a nerd. This is a lecture by the amazing Dr. Michio Kaku, held at Arizona State University, talking about what is scifi and what is possible in the future.  [Read more]

Giles Turnbull at Cult of Mac today posted an interview with vintage Mac user James Wages. This man has maxed out his old Macintosh SE/30 and is now able to browse the Internet and check his email with it - even though the Internet was not invented at the time this machine was introduced. I really enjoyed this article and think it is a nice response to the release of the new MacBooks a couple of days ago.

A couple of hours ago Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced what we all been waiting for - the new MacBook and MacBook Pro. This first glimpse seem to full fill all expectations, and I am really tempted to sell my half year old MacBook - just so I can buy this baby. During the event Apple confirmed the rumor about the new MacBook shell being carved out of a solid block of aluminum - as we reported some time ago (New rumors about Apples the 'Brick'). Check out the new 13 inch MacBook in a high resolution video on Apple's webbsite.

Ever wanted to keep an online conversation private? Probably every now and then, right? Well, we all know this is not possible for the moment. There is just now way to be absolutely sure the data you send is only being received by the guy you're talking to. But things might be about to change, at least if you talk to Anton Zeilinger and his collegues at Vienna University in Vienna, Austria. They have unveiled the worlds first computer network that is protected by quantum encryption, which is believed to be unbreakable.

GeoEye-1 is a unique satellite in that it is commercial - not military - and created to deliver super high-resolution images of the earth. It was sponsored by Google, giving the search engine company exclusive rights to the imagery. In other words, soon you'll probably be able to get fresh high-res images in Google Earth from GeoEye-1. First photos was released this week and you can view them and other photos from the GeoEye organisation, on this official GeoEye website.

The rumors about Apples 'the Brick' takes new turns as weblog Cult of Mac opposes the 9 to 5 Mac rumor, that we wrote about three days ago (read post here). According to Cult of Mac, the manufacturing method mentioned is old stuff and not necessarily more profitable.

Yesterday 9 to 5 Mac published a new rumor about Apple project, codename the 'Brick'. According to the 9 to 5 Mac source it's all about a new manufacturing technique for MacBook. The shell for the MacBook shall, according to the informer, be cut out from a solid brick of aluminum. Read all about the rumor on the 9 to 5 Mac website.
